Sea Level Rise Workshop: Planning for a Resilient Hayward Area Shoreline

Join the Hayward Area Shoreline Resilience Collaborative for a free, interactive community workshop focused on the future of the Hayward area shoreline stretching from San Lorenzo creek to highway 92. Rising seas and stronger storms are already reshaping our Bay. Now is the time to work together on solutions that protect our neighborhoods, wildlife, and local economy.

The Hayward Area Shoreline Resilience Collaborative is uniting local agencies and community partners to protect the Hayward Shoreline and surrounding communities from sea level rise. Through three innovative projects that harness nature-based solutions like horizontal (“living”) levees, we’re building a unified model for climate adaptation that enhances resilience and restores natural ecosystems while connecting people to the Bay.

📍 Location: Cherryland Community Center, 278 Hampton Rd, Hayward, CA 94541

📅 Date & Time: November 18 | 6:00-7:30 PM

Dinner provided and translation and kids activities available if indicated on the registration form!

At this workshop, you’ll:

- Learn about the latest science on sea level rise and flood risks along the Hayward shoreline.
- Explore nature-based solutions like wetlands, horizontal levees, and living shorelines that can protect both people and habitats.
- Share your perspectives on community priorities, challenges, and opportunities for adaptation.
Connect with neighbors, local leaders, and scientists who are shaping the future of our shoreline.

Your voice matters. The Hayward shoreline is a vital part of our community, and together we can ensure it remains resilient, accessible, and thriving for generations to come.
